Shepherd's Green Intern Program

 

 

           For Ag students, vet students, zoo animal handling and those interested in animal rights, animal welfare and sanctuary careers  as well as those who simply want to know more about caring for pigs. We offer a formal program of training with these "exotic" pigs. Also residing here is a small group of farm pigs.

Interns may sign up for either of the programs below, depending on the time they can allot. Certificates are awarded at the end of the internship and a letter of reference provided detailing the work and expertise developed during the internship. Some universities look very favorably on time spent at  internships.  Space is limited . Off site housing and board is provided.

Requirements :

  Non smoker
  Over 18 years of age
  Valid drivers license
 

No history of serious allergic reactions to bee stings, cats or common antibiotics

 

Not taking any prescription drugs that may reduce alertness or alter mental state:

  No criminal record
 

Own transportation

  Letter of introduction from Vet or Ag school advisor or Veterinarian with whom you work
